Making Fumigatory Herb Bundles
Over the next week, I’m going to show you some simple and effective ways to clean and sanitize your home atmosphere. You can use these recommendations to clean and purify your home in a sick room of an individual in your home or use just to freshen the air in general.
Today, we’re going to talk about fumigatory herb bundles.
The word fumigatory means: A room or apparatus used for fumigation. Having the quality of cleansing or disinfecting by smoke.
These bundles are made out of dried or fresh herbs, tied together with cotton string, and once fully dried, burned to create a fumigating smoke to purify sick spaces.
Aromatic oils and resins in dried wood, bark, leaves and herbs can provide a pleasant aroma while spreading and distributing antibacterial elements to purify your home. This way of purification has been used for centuries. This process also cleans stagnancy in a room or space as well.
You can use most aromatic herbs for these bundles, but typically for the purpose of purifying rooms with germs, you would want to use herbs that have disinfectant and purification properties, such as; sage, rosemary, thyme, oregano, lavender, pine, juniper, cedar, mugwort, and mullein.
In this video, I’m using white pine, rosemary, sage, thyme, and lavender to create an aromatic and purifying herb bundle.
If you do not have herbs of your own, you can purchase them at the grocery store in the produce section.
When your herb bundles are completely dry, light( with a match or lighter) the top or end of your fumigatory bundle, and lightly blow out the flame to start the smoking process.
