Rose and Maca Cacao Chocolates
This is a unique and stunning recipe for that special someone on a special occasion. You can also make these little candies to celebrate yourself, too. These chocolates are made with pure ingredients, hormone balancing herbs, and of course, lots of Love!
These candies are made with Maca Root, which is a Peruvian herb that is used for promoting fertility and hormone balancing properties in men and women. Maca is also used for boosting energy, supporting our adrenal glands, and enhancing our mood.
Rose is also infused into these candies for an added elegant touch and a light floral infusion…I call it a Love infusion. These chocolates are delicious, creamy, and decadent…and Beautiful!
Enjoy the Love!
RECIPE:
1/3 cup cacao powder (raw is best) or cocoa powder will do just fine too
¼ cup cocoa butter
¼ cup butter or 1/4 cup coconut oil (using the coconut oil will make these little chocolates firm up quicker but both the butter and coconut oil yield delicious results)
6 TBSP. honey (raw is best)
1 TBSP Maca Root powder- (purchase at a health food store or amazon.com)
1 TBSP dried rose petals
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
INSTRUCTIONS:
In a heat proof bowl, add butter, cocoa butter, maca root powder and rose petals. Set over a pot of simmering water, try not to let the bowl touch the simmering water. Let these ingredients infuse together for 20 minutes.
Pour the ingredients through a fine mesh strainer into a separate bowl, pressing herbs and squeezing out as much of the butters as possible.
Return the infused butters to a bowl over simmering water again and add cacao powder, honey, and vanilla. Stir well until all ingredients are completely mixed and blended together. Stir until mixture is melted, smooth, and shiny.
Pour into candy molds or candy liners and refrigerate until hardened. Pop out of molds when set. These chocolates are best stored in the refrigerator.
*This is the mold I use for these little sweets and you can also place them on a pretty plate with dried rose petals sprinkled around them…they look so beautiful and elegant!
*You can find your rose petals through amazon.com (please purchase organic food grade). This is the one I recommend.
