These little gummies are fun to make and a creative way to take your Elderberry medicine, especially for children!
If you would rather not make your own, I have attached a decent recommendation for you.
RECIPE:
1 cup Elderberry Syrup
¼ cup gelatin powder
½ cup hot herbal tea (not boiling)- my favorite herbal tea infusions for this recipe are elderflower, echinacea, rose hips, nettles, and ginger, but you can use any tea you have on hand.
(An infusion is pouring hot water over your herb leaves, flowers, or plant material and letting it steep or soak for a certain amount of time, depending on the herbs used-for this recipe steep for at least 10-20 minutes)
*You can also just use hot water here too if you wish
Place 1/3 cup of the elderberry syrup (use a room temperature or cooled down syrup for this recipe) in a small bowl and whisk in the gelatin powder until dissolved.
Add the ½ cup of hot infused tea or water, and stir until smooth
Add remaining elderberry syrup and whisk or stir until mixture is completely smooth
Pour into silicone candy molds or other molds and place in refrigerator for 1-2 hours or freezer for 30- 45 minutes or until gummies are completely set. (here are the flower silicone molds I used)
Pop out of molds and store in airtight container with parchment paper between layers. Eat 2-3 of these gummies daily to get in your quota of immune building Elderberries.
Enjoy!
